About Us

Wayne Davis is a licensed optician with over 21 years of experience. A lifelong resident of North Carolina, he was the first optician to serve Hampstead. His special talent is helping select the right frame to fit your face. He can even pick a frame that kids will like and actually wear. Come to Hampstead Opticians when you can't decide what style you'd look best in. You'll be glad you were framed by Wayne!

  • Same day turnaround for single-vision lenses. Other orders normally available the next day.
  • Prices for prescription eyeglasses start at $98.00 for frame and single vision lens complete
  • Frames: Large selection in stock by Safilo, Polo, 9 West and others. Rimless (no frame around lens) and semi-rimless. Metal, plastic and titanium. Flexible frames. We can order any style you like.
  • Reading glasses: +1.00, +1.50, +2.00 and +2.50 powers
  • Fashion Sunglasses. Costa Del Mar in stock
  • Senior Citizen discounts and budget eyeware
  • Lenses: all types, including Varilux, Featherwates (up to 20% thinner and 30% lighter then standard plastic lenses), transition, regular and progressive bifocals, and plano (no prescription)
  • Specialty: safety glasses; prescription goggles for surfing, dive masks, skiing, and ice climbing
  • Coatings: anti-reflective, scratch resistant, mirror or tinted coatings, and photochromic
  • Recommend eyeglass frames, lenses and lens coatings
    after considering your prescription, occupation, habits and the shape of your face
  • Eyeglass repairs, cleaning and adjustments
  • Lens cleaning solutions, cleaning cloths, cases, and other supplies
  • Instruction on how to adapt to, wear, and care for eyeglasses and
    how to insert, remove and care for contacts
  • Eye exams on the premises by an independent Optometrist, Dr. Phillip Tart, O.D.P.A, of Primary Vision Care.
    Dr. Tart offers prescription contact lenses and fittings.

Hours

Regular hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Thursday. Friday 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., Friday afternoons by appointment. Closed on major holidays such as Thanksgiving and the day after; Christmas, Easter and New Years Day. Feel free to call to make sure the optician is in the office.

Eye Exams: Monday-Thursday, by appointment with independent optometrist, Dr. Phillip Tart, located on the premises at Hampstead Station #11A, (910) 270-4453.
